Summer Favorites - Face

I haven't done a favorites list in a while so I thought I'd just combine them into one huge one for the summer. I know it's very nearly the end of the October, but over here in San Diego, we are still feeling the heat. You can call us lucky/spoiled/whatever, but personally, I'm a little tired of it. I'm so ready for the fall!

Anyway, I created a huge list of my favorites this past summer and decided to break them up because it would've been a massive post and I'm not sure I can hold your attention for that long. This first post focuses on my favorite products for the face. Depending on the weather or season, I have to adjust my skincare and make-up routines so that my skin will survive the day without looking like a hot mess. Summer is always tricky because of the heat. I already have oily skin so add hot weather to that, and well, we've got a recipe for potential disaster. Fortunately, I was able to able to avoid complete make-up catastrophe and found some new products along the way.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick
I'm pretty sure I included this in another favorites post, but I really want to include it again because it is a great foundation. Yes, it's close to full coverage but it just went so well with my oily skin. It's lightweight and the finish really does look just like your skin. Because it has a drier formula, I didn't have to use too much powder to set it. I usually can only get away with that in colder months, but to be able to do that in the summer too is a kind of a Christmas miracle.

MAC Matchmaster Foundation
This is a foundation I have been meaning to try for ages, but just completely forgot about. After using the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick, I didn't think there was any way I'd hit the foundation jackpot twice. Matchmaster to me, actually performs better than Bobbi Brown. It's medium to full coverage, but you can use a tiny amount and still achieve an even skintone. It also feels light on the skin. I RARELY have to ever set it with powder. And unlike most foundations (yes including even the BB one), this actually keeps the oil  away for a good 10 hours. With other foundations, my t-zone is an oily mess by the end of the day, but with this, I barely have to blot at all. The fact that I've been so lucky this summer to find two great products for my skin is a great gift. It's really unbelievable.

Rimmel Stay Blushed! Liquid Cheek Tints
I'm going to level with you here: I'm really lazy when it comes to applying make-up. During the morning hours, I can't be bothered to put effort into my look. Looking like I've at least showered is my goal pretty much every morning. So when it comes to make-up, if I don't have to get out any tools or brushes to apply it, it's automatically a winner for me. These cheek stains are so easily to apply and blend. Most importantly, they actually last on my oily skin.

What face products have been your favorites this summer?
