I've finally got it!! I was going back and forth for a long time trying to decide if I should buy it and I finally made the leap to make the purchase last month. I do have to admit that I haven't been following Stephanie (or Soothing Sista) for too long but from what I've seen of her, I'm really digging her vibe. She's exactly what I would want to look like if I had the guts (and money) to dye my hair all sorts of colors and to don edgy clothing.
So when I saw Stephanie was going to come out with her own palette, I knew I had to check it out.
Top-Bottom: Bae Area, Candy Rain, Valencia, Sutro No primer used |
I've found that these particular shades suit my skintone very well and I'm even going to go out on a limb and say it probably would look good on any skintone. And because of the rosey undertone, it would compliment all eye colors. I love quads because it takes the work out of trying to think of what shades to put together when looking at a huge eyeshadow palette. But this palette is so easy to use. The top two mattte shades, Sutro and Valencia, are perfect for days when you're going for a quick and simple look. Pair it with black winged liner and you're good to go. The bottom shades add a lot of drama and pizzazz. Candy Rain is so incredibly gorgeous that I actually have to stop myself from applying so much. I just want to swim and bathe and live in it! Bae Area (oh so clever!) is a very pretty, sparkly shadow. Even though I think the flecks of glitter in it are a little too big, it's not a huge deal breaker for me because it is beautiful and I can still apply it to the inner corners of my eyes.
The quality of the eyeshadows are pretty decent. The matte shades are soft and easy to blend out. The only problem I've had was with fall out with Candy Rain and it might've been because of the brush I was using. Apart from that, I've had no other issues. I've used this palette almost every single day since I bought it and I plan on using it more! If you've got the Naked3 palette then you are more than welcome to skip this as it contains very similar shades. But if you don't feel like shelling out $50+ dollars, then head on over to Memebox and get your hands on this beautiful palette for only $17!
EDIT 6/2/2015:
So I used Candy Rain and Bae Area wet today by spraying some Avene water on my brush and the pigmentation was tons better. I also had no fall out. I'm definitely going to use this method more often!
