Unlike with foundations and skincare products, I'm not much of a snob when it comes to concealer. I'm willing to try anything regardless of the brand. I feel like with concealer it's easier to get away with something that isn't totally top quality if you're not using it alone. I decided that the Forever 21 Concealer would be the best product to try from their new line. I wasn't overly curious about all the others they have in their line (although the lip & cheek stain looked interesting), but when I tested the concealer, I thought I might give it a go. Plus at $10.80, I didn't feel like I would be wasting too much money if it didn't work out.
The first thing I noticed with the Forever 21 Concealer was that it felt very lightweight on the skin, as I think most concealers should be anyway. It has a creamy texture, but didn't have a gunky feeling. It's also very easy to blend and doesn't sit in creases or slide off, which is nice for someone with oily skin like me. Coverage is light to medium, which means it's good to use alone if you already have good skin, but it doesn't do much to cover darker blemishes/scars. As you can see in the picture below, I used the red mark on my hand as an example. It's not completely covered in the picture on the right. However, I've found that it is great for highlighting and brightening. I love using it under my eyes, the bridge of my nose, brow bone and chin. Another important thing to point out is that it didn't break me out at all. I've been using this concealer for almost a month and have not seen any irritation on my skin.
Overall, I am happy with this purchase. I'm not sure I can say "YES GO BUY THIS MEOW!" but I can definitely say that if you're looking for a concealer or highlighter that won't break the bank and if you're lucky enough that your skin tone matches any of the three available shades, then go ahead and give this a try. Otherwise, live your life the way you want to live it. And if that means you want to shell out some serious cash for the YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch highlighting pen you've been eyeing for months, then go 'head gurl!
