A New Blog... Sort of.

Hi all!

So we all know I'm terrible at this blogging business. For the last year or so, I've been having a hard time finding my "voice" or my mark, so to speak. I had no blogging identity. I've felt a lot of pressure from seeing other beauty blogs to create perfect content and that's the reason why I don't post too much. I bought new equipment last year, but lacked the enthusiasm to create quality posts.

At one point, I considered deleting eyeheartmakeup altogether and start fresh. But I knew that I had already created the "brand" and have garnered albeit a few followers, that I thought creating something completely new would put me back to square one.

With that said, I've decided that I'm going to take eyeheartmakeup in a slightly different direction. I will still write about make-up and all things beauty, but it will no longer be my main focus. It will still be a huge chunk of the content, but I am going to treat this more as a personal/beauty blog.

Okay, so eyeheartmakeup is already a personal/beauty blog, but my goals have changed. I will try to post at least once a week, whether it's something as random as picking up a new book. Basically I'm going to take the pressure off myself. This blog will simply be a place for me to share things and experiences that I think are special, if and whenever I feel like it. I still have no plans on trying to become a famous blogger or guru of some sort. I really do just love blogging in general. I've been doing this for more than *10 years and I have no plans on stopping any time soon.

There will be slight physical changes to the blog as well. First order of business was to simplify my labels and tags. I've created four categories: Beauty, Lifestyle, Fashion and Nails. Lifestyle will be where every other post that has nothing to do with beauty/fashion/nails will go. I've created pages up top and also added links to the sidebar on the right. I'm also currently looking for a new template, though I'm not sure when that will be up. I'm trying to narrow down my choices at the moment and so far I've got it down to 3.

What I'm doing isn't a new concept in the blogging world. People do this all the time, but I felt the need to address this issue because it's something that's been bugging me for a long time now.

Anyway, if you're still following my blog, I just want to express my sincerest gratitude and love for you. And for the newbies, I just want to say welcome and that I hope you enjoy your stay. Alright, back to work for me!

*I haven't been blogging about beauty for 10 years, but I have been a blogger for that long. Maybe even longer. I've had two Blogger blogs and two Livejournals. And no, you can't have the address to them =P
